In my perspective , a steak is the most refined piece of meat that is grilled under a certain heat until it is medium rare with a lip smacking sauce to dip in. Out of all the dishes in the world, I have a very special place for steaks.
- a herb such as parsley/thyme/rosemary
- salt - an extremely essential component
- an acidic component such as lime or lemon
- heat (chilly flakes/pepper)
- additions like garlic, onion, shallots, etc.
- always try to be creative
And out of all the steaks in the world ranging from fish to goat, the one meat that had pleased my tongue is beef. The flavor that comes out of the pinkish beef is just extraordinary!
I always like my steak to be served with fries, mushrooms, greens and a lovely sauce. I always prefer a 'dripping sauce' as it has all the flavors of the meat tightly packed that sings beef. Usually a dripping sauce contains alcohol but as I do not prefer it , I substitute it with a beef stock.
I love visiting steakhouses, they focus only on steaks and so whatever they serve are always mouth watering. Each time I visit one, it always sends a message to come again. A steak has different degrees of cooking , to cook a flawless steak you should understand each and every degree of cooking.
- raw. uncooked meat
- rare. extremely red in the middle with a brown exterior.
- medium rare. the most common and the standard degree of cooking. it has a reddish pink interior.
- medium well. light pink in the middle.
- well done. meat is completely cooked . it has brown interior.
- overcooked. meat is blackened and is not appetizing.
- club steak
- filet mignon
- rib eye steak
- rump steak
- tomahawk steak
- porter house
- sirloin steak
